Venetian and Palazzo Hotels to Conclude Partnership with IHG in January 2025

news

At the start of 2025, IHG will end its longstanding collaboration with Venetian and Palazzo Las Vegas resorts that enabled their inclusion within IHG’s global reservation system since October 2010. This marks an alliance which started back then.

Though they will no longer partner together, IHG claims the departure of Venetian and Palazzo from its network – representing 7,092 hotel rooms – will have minimal effects on its booking platform’s availability and not significantly alter revenues or operating profits. According to them, this specific licensing agreement contributed less than $1 Million of revenue (less than 0.1% of their total), having no net effect on operational profit or its bottom line.

Potential Reasons Behind the Separation

No party involved have provided details as to the precise reasons behind IHG and Venetian/Palazzo’s split, although ownership changes could play a part. Previously IHG partnered with Las Vegas Sands but after they sold properties to private equity firm Apollo Global Management/VICI Properties in 2021 could have altered dynamics drastically; details remain uncertain who initiated its termination but could come either from hotel managing parties or Apollo themselves.

The Ever-Changing Landscape of Las Vegas Hotel Partnerships

Hotel collaborations in Las Vegas, particularly between casino properties and traditional hotel operators are notoriously unsteady. Gaming companies typically manage these properties while working closely with traditional hoteliers on guest experiences through shared loyalty programs and booking systems – although as evidenced by IHG and The Venetian’s agreement being subject to revision over time.

Apollo has yet to make an announcement regarding a replacement hotel management partner for IHG at both resorts, the Venetian and Palazzo.
