IGT, short for International Game Technology, is a multinational gambling company and a really old one for that matter. The company has been around since 1990.

In 2006, the Italian company Lottomatica, bought the US gaming technology company called Gtech. In 2015, Gtech announced that it has received approval for the acquisition of IGT. The two companies combined would be branded as IGT  and they would move forward with this name, becoming one of the heaviest names in the industry.

When we take a look at the casino games developed by IGT, we understand why this company has been around for so long and why it is so successful. IGT develops products and services for gaming, lottery and sports betting. For quite some time, the company only worked on gambling products that were used by casino executives in resorts, in physical locations. Despite that, the company managed to successfully infiltrate the online world in 2005. This way, they added to their already well renowned name and to their experience.

Very popular IGT branded slots machines have been ported over to casino websites, giving online casino enthusiasts great titles. Among these title we can see Wheel of Fortune: Hollywood Edition, Battleship, Jeopardy!, MegaJackpots Monopoly and many more. The MegaJackpots titles represent some of the biggest progressive jackpots on the internet at the moment. The company also successfully develops and supplies online casinos with table games and video poker games.

IGT’s main license is issued by the UK Gambling Commission, but the company has rights to provide games to casinos and users in multiple jurisdictions, holding more than 450 global gaming licenses.
